The Classic's first California team, and one that asked to come — Dorsey players had played the 15-and-under AAU nationals in the Tri-Cities and enquired afterwards. Eight of them were named among Southern California's best. Sherwyn Morgan averaged 19 points and Jason Howzell 17.5; junior Willie O'Neal was rated the seventh-best junior in Southern California. The Dons were said to be quick in the Science Hill mould.
