Science Hill High School

Northeast Tennessee's top-ranked team carried a 36-game winning streak dating to its last loss, at the previous year's Classic. George Pitts' Hilltoppers lacked size but pressed hard and played seven or eight deep. 6-0 junior guard Shane Williams averaged 13.7 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and five steals, while 6-3½ Derrick Bristol (19 points) was likely out with a sprained knee. Gilbert Charles, Eric Patton, Damon Johnson, Tyrone Conley and Charles Love filled out the rotation. 9-0 coming in.
